Events & Workshops
Some activities are organized by Stevenson Learning Skills, and some are organized by schools, school systems or educational agencies. Those organized by Stevenson Learning Skills are open to the public. The others might be public or might be restricted on to the members of the organizing group. The descriptions below will specify if attendance is limited to a particular group. Once you register for a Stevenson-organized workshop, we will send more details about times and locations. This full-day workshop, presented by Nancy Ziehme, is specifically designed for teachers who are already using the Stevenson Reading Program. Several make-and-take activities and games will be completed, and more will be demonstrated. Classroom management stratgeies will be discussed, and ample time for questions and answers will be provided. Cost is $50 per person. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m, and the workshop will actually start at 9:00. It will go to about 3:00 p.m. with breaks. This free afternoon session is designed specifically for teachers who already use the Stevenson Reading Program or for teachers who have attended Stevenson workshops given in the Norfolk Public School. (Participants for the morning introductory wokshops are also welcome.) Managing Editor, Bill Stevenson, will discuss special situations and demonstrate strategies for specific learning problems, as well as answer whatever questions the group may have.
