Events & Workshops
Some activities are organized by Stevenson Learning Skills, and some are organized by schools, school systems or educational agencies. Those organized by Stevenson Learning Skills are open to the public. The others might be public or might be restricted on to the members of the organizing group. The descriptions below will specify if attendance is limited to a particular group. Once you register for a Stevenson-organized workshop, we will send more details about times and locations. Bill Stevenson, Managing Editor, will give a 2-hour introductory workshop for the teachers at Floranada Elemetary in Broward County, Florida on Feb 23, 2017. Other educators from the Broward County Schools are weclome, but please contact us first, so the school knows to expect more people. You can register through this website, or just email us with your name and school at email@example.com.
Nancy Ziehme, senior trainer for the Stevenson Reading Program, will give a full day workshop on the second level of the Program, the Basic Blue, and the Overlapping Strategy, at the Region 10 ESC. You will need to register through the Region 10 ESC. See registration information above. To register for either or both trainings go to http://www.region10.org/ and click on Event Registration, then search for the appropriate date. Teachers from Region 10 schools will receive priority, but educators form anywhere can sign up if the sessions are not full.
Dr. Tom Diebold will present a full-day workshop on the Stevenson Reading Program that focuses on the Beginning Green Level with some elements of the Basic Blue Level and Overlapping Strategy also covered. The training will be held at the Fairfield County ESC, but teachers from outside of the county are welcome. Cost is $30, witha box lunch included. Attendance certificates for contact hours will be available. (PD credit from Ashland University is also offered if this workshop is combined with another from the June Academy.)
