Website Adds Forums for Teachers and Homeschoolers

On November 1, 2003, we are adding new features to our website that will help us support the teachers and parents who use our materials. We are calling them the “Stevenson Forums.” They are essentially on-line bulletin boards where people can ask questions, make comments and share ideas. Unlike chat rooms, where every comment appears in real time (usually uncensored), these forums will be moderated. The moderators will all have expertise in the Stevenson Language Skills Program. They will post the questions that our customers ask on the forum, and they will usually offer some response. Then anyone else visiting the website can share their comments and experience on the topic as well. The moderators will post comments/responses several times a week and make suggestions as appropriate. In some situations moderators will direct participants to information elsewhere on the website or to our books, but we will also provide new information whenever necessary. We hope to use what we learn from our customers to produce a “Frequently Asked Questions” section for the website that can be regularly expanded and cross-referenced to the Forums.

There will be two separate Forums: one for professional educators and one for homeschool teachers. Each group is welcome to view the other’s Forum, but we felt the two groups would often have different kinds of questions. Of course, we will continue to maintain our toll-free number so that customers can get phone consultation as well. The new Forums, however, will allow us to share the same information with many different people at one time. They will also allow our customers and visitors to share ideas with each other. We look forward to providing these new forums, and we will appreciate your feedback.
