We are currently working on a Letter Clue Workbook to supplement the activities in Stevenson’s Letters and The Beginning Green Level. It is easy for adults to take learning letter sounds and shapes for granted. However, for young pre-school and Kindergarten students this process is an adventure, and for some learning disabled students it can be a struggle. The Stevenson Program not only uses hands-on, multi-sensory activities to teach letters, it also applies special, visual mnemonic clues. Although both Stevenson’s Letters Teachers Manual, the Beginning Green Level Teacher’s Manual and Beginning Green Workbook A, all provide various activities for using these clues, some students need more practice than others. Also, teachers appreciate having additional independent seat work for students. So we are producing a new workbook of paper and pencil letter clue activities. It should be finished around February.
