Recent Article from Spring 2009: New Letter Clue Workbook Ready June, 2009 In two months we will have a new workbook that provides extra practice and reinforcement on letter instruction. Stevenson’s Letter Clue Workbook can be used with either Stevenson’s Letters Teacher’s Manual or the Beginning Green Level Teacher’s Manual. Kindergarten students, or primary grade pupils who are still struggling with sound-symbol correspondence, will appreciate this book. Some pages focus on the visual discrimination of letters and others on letter formation, but the majority of activities focus on the special Stevenson mnemonic clues that help students connect letter sounds to letter shapes. All elementary educators understand how vitally important this basic skill is. If you are working with any student between the age of four and a half and eight who struggles with letters, you should consider using the Stevenson clues. Either of the manuals mentioned earlier, along with the Beginning Level Teaching Cards will help students master letters, while the new Letter Clue Workbook will provide valuable reinforcement. These paper and pencil activities can be great fun, though perhaps not as enjoyable as the overall feeling of success they can bring.
